How do I connect my battery for battery optimization?

Please note: Battery optimization is currently available for Tesla Powerwall and Enphase batteries.

Tesla Powerwall:

To set up battery optimization for your Tesla Powerwall:

  1. Log into your David Energy portal or open your David Energy app.
  2. Navigate to “my devices” and click on “connect backup battery”.
  3. Input your Tesla username and password to link your battery to our system.
  4. Ensure you have “Energy Exports” enabled. Most Powerwalls do not have this setting on by default, so you’ll need to contact Tesla via phone or email to have it turned on. Follow our easy script here to request it in under one minute.

To enable Energy Exports for your Powerwall, reach out to Tesla Powerwall support via phone or email:

Email: powerwallsupportna@tesla.com

Phone: 1-877-961-7652

All you have to do is ask: “Can you enable Energy Exports in my app?”

Once this has been enabled you will see a new toggle in your Powerwall settings.

After you connect, you may notice a few small dispatch events as we calibrate your system for battery exporting. Once you’re calibrated and we confirm that your Powerwall is set up for exporting, we’ll send you an email to let you know.

Enphase:

To set up battery optimization for your Enphase battery:

  1. Log into your David Energy portal or open your David Energy app.
  2. Navigate to “my devices” and click on “connect backup battery”.
  3. Link your Enphase account.
  4. Choose your settings by setting your backup reserve level.

After you connect, you may notice a few small dispatch events as we calibrate your system for battery exporting. Once you’re calibrated and we confirm that your Enphase battery is set up for exporting, we’ll send you an email to let you know.
